Sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations. Located on the north shore of Black Lake, this 50 site rustic campground has two units. The 33 site upper unit is designated for ORV camping, and the 17 site lower unit are for the traditional camper. All campsites can facilitate tent and trailer use.

Black Lake Trail Camp [Equestrian Trail Camp], Twin Lake Road, Onaway, MI 49709, Phone: (989) 785-4251. (Formally a part of Twin Lakes State Forest Campground) Group Trail Camp designed for use by equestrian campers riding within approved areas within the Black Mountain Recreation Area. Non-equestrian campers are also welcome. Maximum capacity is for 40 individuals and can accommodate tents and small trailers. Rustic campground includes vault toilets and potable water from well hand pump. Use of sites at Group Trail Camps may have been pre-permitted through an Use/Event Permit. Please contact the local office at 989.785.4251, ext 5293 to confirm availability of this campground for you or your groups use. Offices are open Monday - Friday during normal business hours.

Hoeft State Park [Campground & RV Parks, Cabin & Cottage Rentals], 5001 US-23 North, Rogers City, MI 49779, Phone: (989) 734-2543. Heavily wooded 300 acre park on with a mile of sandy, Lake Huron shoreline with small sand dunes. We have 144 modern campsites and a mini cabin. P.H. Hoeft State Park Offers a Sears Roebuck Lodge for rent. Amenities include a refrigerator, electric stove, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. Linens/towels are supplied along with dishware, utensils, pots, pans, bakeware, a Weber grill, (charcoal not provided) a fire pit (wood for sale in the park) and a picnic table. Guests are expected to clean the lodge prior to their departure. Excellent swimming area and a close view of Great Lakes shipping traffic from beach. Spacious, lakefront view picnic shelter with split-stone fireplace available. Our 4 1/2 miles of hiking trails are groomed for skiing in the winter. Metal detecting area.

Onaway State Park [Campground & RV Park], 3622 N. M-211, Onaway, MI 49765, Phone: (989) 733-8279. Located on the southeast shore of beautiful Black Lake, known for its variety of game fish. Encompassing 158 acres of rugged but picturesque land, including sand cobblestone beaches, large unique rock outcroppings and a diverse variety of trees. The park features a three-mile nature trail and 85 modern campsites among virgin white pines. Picnicking, swimming, horseshoes and boat launch. Onaway is home of the annual Black Lake Sturgeon Shivaree, a festival in February featuring ice fishing, snowmobile racing and other winter activities.

Ocqueoc Falls State Forest Campground, M-68, Rogers City, MI 49779. 15 sites for tent or small trailers use. Hike to scenic Ocqueoc Falls along the Bicentennial Pathway or take advantage of good steelhead and trout fishing from the campground. Rustic campground includes vault toilets and potable water from well hand pump.

Shoepac Lake State Forest Campgound, 12 miles SE of Onaway via M-33 and Tomahawk Lake Highway. 28 sites for tent and small trailer use. Natural limestone sink holes in the area create an interesting topography which can be explored along hiking/biking trails through the campground and surrounding area. Rustic campground includes vault toilets and potable water from well hand pump. Trailhead to High Country Pathway and Sinkhole Pathway.

Tomahawk Creek Flooding State Forest Campground, 13 miles North of Atlanta on M-33, 1 miles East of M-33 on Tomahawk Lake Road. Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations. 36 sites for tent and small trailer use situated around the water. Canoe or fish in Tomahawk Creek Flooding and enjoy miles of hiking trail accessible from the campground. Rustic campground includes vault toilets and potable water from well hand pump. Trailhead to High Country Pathway.

Twin Lakes State Forest Campground, Black River Road And Twin Lake Road, Onaway, MI 49709, Phone: (989) 785-4251. Phone number indicated above is for the Atlanta Management Unit. Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations. 12 sites for tent and small trailer use. Carry-in boat launch and excellent fishing in Twin Lakes. Hiking and biking opportunity on nearby Black Mountain Pathway. Rustic campground includes vault toilets and potable water from well hand pump. Watchable wildlife located in a wetland area along Lake Huron. Good place to see duck, goose, egrets and carnivorous pitcher plants (15 miles NW). Off-Road Trail Bummer's Roost Motorcycle trail is four miles south. (motorcycle use only).
